Description: A proposed 65-kilometer broad-gauge railway line is planned to connect Bhavnagar with Dholera SIR, strengthening regional transport infrastructure. As of January 7, 2026, railway authorities confirmed that the Final Location Survey (FLS) is underway to evaluate route alignment, land requirements, and technical feasibility. After completion, a Detailed Project Report (DPR) will be submitted to the Railway Board for approval before construction begins. The corridor is primarily designed to support freight and goods movement for industries planned within Dholera. It is also expected to improve rail access to Bhavnagar Port, which is being developed as a multi-purpose port with container-handling facilities, enhancing overall logistics efficiency in the region.
